May is almost over .....

Can you believe it?  May is almost over?  In just a couple of days we start into the second half of 2016!  With Mother's Day over, we are quickly coming up on Father's Day.  Next week, I plan (more like hope) I have some Father's Day cards to share with you.  So please be sure to tune in for that okay?

This week went entirely too fast for me -- that plus health issues yesterday blew over me like wind.  I do have some new cards to show you for this week and I hope you will leave me a comment or two.

As you know I participate in challenges each week.  It is a really good way to learn new techniques, and challenge yourself ability in creating something beautiful.  For this card, it was the Sketch Challenge.  I chose to use the tan and black combination of colors, (which I really love); cut a simple strip of black and glued that down, next the Washi tape (that is the thin brown tape you see next to my black strip).  I proceeded to cut out four different sizes of circles.  The biggest one I stamp my Gibson girl (Flonz Stamps); I placed the next biggest one (according to our sketch) slightly below her and to the left.  It was bare to me so I added four flowers (from Hobby Lobby).  The two other sizes were next, the next biggest size would cover part of my stamp which I did not like, so I tucked part of it under the big circle.  The littlest one I placed next to it --- and added an adhesive brad of a butterfly on top.  All of these circles are popped up for 3-D dimension.
This card has a LOT on it - why I piled so much - is beyond me.  I guess it looked better in person than on camera.  Giggles.  This was a color challenge:  Hot pink, the bright yellow and the bright orange with our choice of any green color.  I started with the panels, intending to maybe do a flower die to each panel.  Didn't happen; who knows why?  I then thought of my row of houses to die cut in green and pop up those on the middle panel.  I thought of a friend who is moving in a couple of weeks and thought to put a bow and gold gem on one of the houses.  I die cut the clouds and then embossed them with my swirly embossing folder, popped those up.  Added a bird gem.  The bottom one got a nice sentiment, 'sending blessings your way' and on either side three orange stick on gems.  To send or not to send is the question... what do you think I should do?  Send this or make a new card?
'Try a New Technique' is the name of this challenge.  The technique is called the 'Collar Technique'.  As you can see it is a fold for our card.  My initial thought was to add some die cut leaves.  Couldn't make it happen for some reason, there I graduated to trying flowers -- didn't happen there either.  So then -- knowing the cat lover that I am, I thought to myself, 'You can't go wrong with a car!'  And so I cut this die cut - this beautiful cat and slapped on a diamond eye.  Up above I stamped the truth, 'My therapist has whiskers'.  And then stamped a heart.

My Thursday's challenge is called, 'Ways to Use it'.  It called for something stitched.  So I immediately went to my new die from Our Daily Bread Designs and started choosing some patterned paper and die cutting.  I then played puzzle making.  Gluing the black down and carefully picking out each piece for each space -- I finally came up with this.  I added a die cut flower, 'Aster Flower' also from Our Daily Bread Designs.  The small flower in the center was an embellishment, I bought from Hobby Lobby.  I then stamped 'Best Friends' on the bottom right.  This stamp is made from 'Oriental Trading Co.'.

For my last card: Wouldn't you know it?  Another Ways to Use it challenge card!  This one called to make our own background with flowers.  Using  my Misti - (what on earth did I do before that came along???)  I stamped the leafy vines several times on my card in ink called, Bamboo Leaves - to make it really stand out.  That stamp is made from; 'Indigo Blu'.  I then glued on the flowers (yes the same ones in a different color from Hobby Lobby), The yellow ones, are paper punched and light bronze gems are added.  The bible verse is a stamp from 'Verve' and I thought it most appropriate for this card.

Well folks that is the last of them for this week!  Please stop by next week and may God bless you and keep you in His care!  Jan

Friday has rolled around again!

I have another set of cards to share with you today.  I hope this finds everyone doing well and ready for the weekend!

I need to get busy making Father's Day cards.  As I try and sell them now at two locations here in Rogers, Arkansas!  This was for the Sketch Challenge - and a challenge it was!!  Having to cut these 'just right'.  As you can see I made a sea / sailing theme.  The boats (Impression Obsession), the water (Memory Box), and the sea gulls (Impression Obsession) are all dies.  I stamped 'Happy Father's Day!'
This was a color challenge - as you can see, it included the medium aqua, bright yellow and hot pink!  My neutral color was white.  All three rectangles are stitched around the edges.  The dies are from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  The big butterfly die is made from Spellbinders,  I added adhesive pearls to the body.  I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder and a heat gun.
I do not know how I missed this beauty last week.  But this is another Sketch Challenge card.  I love the papers I used and not sure of the company's name for it.  Again I used my big butterfly die from Spellbinders.  I glued the ribbons.  The scallop and regular circles are hand punched with a puncher.  The flowers are bought embellishments from Hobby Lobby.  Stamped with 'Birthday Wishes'.  The company that makes that stamp is called Verve.  I embellished the butterfly body with diamond gems.
Another Father's Day card.  This was the Mixability Challenge.  Where we need to use at least two different mediums.  And this one called for a fabulous frame.  As you can see I cut plaid design paper out, and then used my stitched rectangle for the image.  This stamp image was made by Unity Stamp Company.  I used chalk, markers and die cuts which is my Mixability.  My fabulous frame was used with die cut branches.  Memory Box makes those.
My last card for you this week, is the Free 4 All challenge.  It was suppose to be about 'Time'.  My sentiment is not very readable here in this small picture.  But it reads, 'and Suddenly you just know it's time to start something new and trust the magic of beginnings',  Also the brad above it has a clock face in it.  Both the sentiment and the image of the woman drinking coffee is made from Unity.  I added pink pearls to balance out the card.  I also used pink pearl drops to go around the sentiment die cut.

I hope you all have a wonderful week - love to hear from you.  God bless you till next Friday!  Jan

It is Friday again!  How is that even possible?  It goes by so fast!  However I do have more cards to share this week!  The challenges keep coming daily and I love to make cards!  I hope you enjoy looking - and if you want to leave a comment;  I would love that too!

This challenge gave us a choice to feature a cat or an owl or both.  I got my green eyed baby here decked out with a diamond necklace - a bright pink nose and long whiskers.  Isn't she stunning?
The borders have it!  You guess it?  We had to use a single stamp to create a border on our cards.  I also added a tree and a verse for Father's Day.  You know it is just around the corner now!!

We had to feature wallpaper on our cards.  And I needed to add the window, the chair was colored and fussy cut out.  I added two die cut cats and a plat that says 'Home Sweet Home',  Outside the window is a tree, sky and ground.  I think this is rather cozy.  Don't you?
One of our hostess, such a sweet lady.  Gave us a picture of Sweden that had a lot of houses in it.  So I made a neighborhood of homes.  I used chalk for the clouds and ground, marking pens for coloring the image and added a flight of birds in the air.

Like I said before the weeks go by so fast.  Until next Friday I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and week!  God bless us, every one.  Jan

Here it is Friday night again ... another week of cards I have to show you.  Leave me some comments - I would love to hear from you.

The challenge called for 'teacher's and school supplies'.  I had this cute stamp of the a kitty reading a book, I could not pass up the chance to use it.  Stampendous makes both stamps, (Cat and the Sentiment).  I think paper punched the gold star out of glitter paper.  Fussy cut an apple digi, added the clothes pin, and the dictionary ribbon.  And placed it on Light green checkered print.
This challenge was a sketch challenge.  Which means I had this layout I had to make a card from.  The die cut flowers are Asters from Our Daily Bread Designs.  The circle die is Spellbinders, and the leaf die I had bought from Ebay.  I added pink gems and stamped Happy Birthday from Flonz.
This challenge was a color challenge.  Lavender, Dark Purple, Green, and Sky Blue.  The stamp is made from Verve,  The flowers is a two part stamp made from Stampin' Up.
This challenge called for flowery paper,  Again I used Stampin' Up papers (all of them except the white which is Neenah), I stamped the flower and colored it, fussy cut it out.  Added a button on top and the leaf is from Heartfelt Creations - die and stamp.
This challenge called for something fluffy.  I thought of this stamp made by Our Daily Bread Design, and a friend of mine, Lisa colored it for me.  (She is great at coloring isn't she?)  I added gem dots, and sentiment is from Joy Crafts.  The white square was a gift from Audrie I met on Splitcoaststampers.

Well that is all folks for this week.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend - and hope to see you next week!  God bless always!  Jan

Another Week has gone ...

I have more cards to show you -'but of course'.  I sure hope to hear from you - I love getting comments.

Okay, time to load some cards up!!

Started with a digi and then colored the background with yellow chalk.  Then came to color the bird with markers and color pencils.   The sentiment is from Inkadinkado!  Yes that is a real name of the company for this stamp.
The stamp for the flowers in the jar is from Stampendous.  The sentiment is from Verve.  Again I used yellow chalk around the background.  Then colored the rest with marking pens and color pencils.
The challenge for this card called for either an Anniversary or a Wedding.  Aqua topper is from Spellbinders, and the roses were a free gift from an order I believe - but could not remember,  (it happens when you get old folks!); The label is another Spellbinder die, I shaped it to round off after stamping it with Happy Anniversary!  I crowned this card with diamond gems and pink hearts.
Another digi, just colored with markers and pens -- the background is chalk with green and blue.  Sweet n' Sassy (which makes up almost 75% of my stamps) is where the sentiment came from.
This was for Saturday's Inspiration Challenge.  I had picked a pillow to case and inspire me.  This is the pillow that inspired me to do this card: Link to the pillow:    Do you see a likeness?
I love these pansies!!!  This was a sketch challenge card - we had to folow a sketch for our card.  I am happy with the way this turned out.  What do you  think of my cards???

I pray that you all have a wonderful week!  God bless each of you.
Hugs and Blessings!
