Good Morning!  Today is 'Good Friday'; it is the day our Lord Jesus was crucified.  I mourn today because I know my sins placed him on that cross, to die such a brutal death.  Because of His love for me, he went to the cross 'willingly'  ---  who does that?  No one in their right frame of mind would do that for another person - yet our Lord and Savior did.  We as sinners, rejoice because the one person who was perfect in all of His ways, died for our sins, paid the price ... and when Sunday morning arises, we will rejoice!  Our tears will turn into laughter, because our Lord Jesus has risen from the grave and lives forever more!  This is what our lives are about.  This is why we were created, to serve an awesome God, that loves us more than we can imagine.  Take time today to reflect on that love, to thank God for what He has done for us.  And if you haven't accepted Him by faith, now is the best time to do so!  Just pray for forgiveness, ask him to come into your heart and life - repent (means to change your mind about the way you are living), He will come and live inside you - and forgive you - and save you.  What joy!  What love the Father has for us!

This past week, I have gone 'Tulip crazy'.  I have made cards that all have tulips on them.  Don't ask me why - it just happened.  LOL!  I would like to share them with you.  For the first one:

I took a picture of a vase and cut it out, stamped this design on it and covered it in diamond gems.  I then found a picture of a bible and fussy cut that out and placed it on pop ups.  As you can see I used blue and yellow tulips and a blue bow for this card.  I used a scallop that a friend, Emily sent to me and added the stamped square to it.  This card went to a sweet woman who had to go to emergency last Friday, and is facing surgery and health care.  We remember her in prayers as she recovers from this illness.

For my next card:

Well I cannot seem to re size this to be bigger - so hope you all can see it well enough.  This was a challenge I took part in on SCS and it was a challenge to use gingham.  I used a big pink one for the background and took a big scallop (die cut), chalked on the clouds and sky.  I then placed a die cut coffee cup, and placed (what?) my tulips into it.  I added a gingham bow and a stamp from SNS.  I love the crisp clean look of this card, don't you?

Can you take looking at one more card today?

This card was part of another challenge.  The Sketch challenge on SCS as well.  This is where they give you an outline of a sketch and you are to make your card in that outline.  I used yellows and browns in mine -- the bars are part of a DP I cut out and layered on yellow background.  I then used 2 die cut ovals and place three yellow tulips on them, covered with a bow.  I hope this brightens up your day, spring is here and that is when tulips appear!

I wish you all a very Happy Easter!  And hope to hear from you soon!
God bless!  Jan

It is almost Easter!  I am sure all of you have plans for this special holiday.  But aside from the Easter egg hunts, the candy, and the big family celebrations ... there is a much excellent reason to celebrate.  It is the day of the Savior's resurrection!  Without Jesus dying for our sins (revere Good Friday), and celebrating his resurrection (Easter Morning) .. we would have no way of gaining salvation.  It is only through God's Son that we are able to receive this awesome gift!  So I hope you are not sick of looking at Easter cards --- as I do have more to share with you.

This was such a simple card, yet I just love the way it turned out.  I hope you do too!
I started off with just your plain old white card stock, the blue polka dots DP, Swiss Dot embossed, checkered ribbon, (which I got at the second hand store- a great place to find things for creating your cards!) My friend Emily sent me the scalloped squares, I ran the image onto one of them.  Then to top it off I place a bow.  I love the homely feel of this card, don't you?

My next card is not an Easter one.  It is from a challenge I participated in on SCS.  Called 'Ways to Use It', and this week it called for a 'Girly' card.  This is what I came up with.

I surprised myself on this one... every once in awhile I create something I actually love.  This is it.  I love the vintage feel of this card.  I started off with CS in a brownish rust color, used a DP from Mirabelle Card stock, I then added lace that my friend Emily sent to me.  The Die cut oval I ran through the printer to get the image on it.  Covered that in pearls.  I made the rose with layers of flowers and a rose quill.  Added paper punched leaves and a bow.

As always - I love to hear from you all.  If you are new, please consider joining my blog I would love to get to know you.  May you all have a wonderful week and a safe Easter!  God bless!

Hello Everyone!

I have been really busy making Easter cards.  As I am sure most of you are getting ready to celebrate Easter this month.  So I thought I would share a couple with you.  For my first one, I just fell in love with this image I found online.  Isn't this bunny the most adorable thing you ever saw???

I started off with some Pastel Pink CS, then cut squares a white one for bg - and then two squares with embossed flowers and two squares with pink floral.  I also added a die cut oval and placed pearls on it.  I then ran off the image and cut it out and pasted it on.  Then added a pastel pink bow.  I think I will need to make more of these!  Tell me what you think.

My next card is also an Easter card:

It is a bit hard to see, however I used blue chalk to make the sky and clouds.  I got a new die of the three crosses on a hill (the hill I covered in flowers petals and diamond gems).  This cute die is from 'Sweet n Sassy'  they have the neatest stamps and die sets!  You really should go over there and browse around their website:  http://sweetnsassystamps.com/

I used this die cut on metallic gold paper.  The sentiment I stamped on, and it is from Stampabilities, another great place to by stamps.  I then paper punched my butterfly and added diamond gems to its body.  The grass is green paper cut out and pasted on.

Well I sure hope you enjoyed looking at these -- love to hear from you, so please leave a comment or two.  God bless always!  Jan

March 4, 2013

Where have I been?  The days just fly right pass me and before I know it, it is time to post another card.  This week I chose the following card, to showcase to you.  It was a challenge, from the SCS.  Inspirational Challenge which we were to pick from Decoylab website.

Most of the things on Decoylab is wooden, so that is what my inspiration for wood came from  I started with your standard CS, added embossed brown paper to look like wood.  I also die cut my butterflies in this embossed paper.  I then added a cream colored die cut oval, and a smaller oval in green DP.  I had a half of a golden flourish which I place in the bottom left corner and added a brown bow to the top.  Not to forget to glamorize my butterflies, I added diamond blings.

For one more, I was to make a masculine card for a challenge on Sweet V's Idea blog site.  I chose to go nautical with mine.

I had DP that was a map, and cut it down to size.  I then took it and burnt the edges of the corners and distressed it.  I wanted it to look old and vintage.  I then had a digi of the ship which I colored in pencils and cut out, placed it with pop ups.  I then stamped my sentiments on die cut clouds and placed them on with pop up as well.  The sentiments came from 'Sweet n Sassy' which I absolutely love their stamps and die cuts!

As always, I appreciate your comments.
I hope you have a blessed week - God bless!
Jan
