Good Morning Everyone!

This certainly is the season where we all get caught up in the holiday activities.  Baking goodies, sending cards out, buying gifts, and hopefully praising and thanking the Lord for being able to do so!  I have been blessed, with a pretty big order of cards to make.  Thought I would share a couple of them with you today.  This first one is made to uplift some one's spirits who is going through a period of recovery

I love the sentiment; what better way to encourage someone than to tell them to lean on the Healer Himself, our Lord Jesus Christ.  I used Coordinated paper, embossed and then sanded down for the swirl effect.  I then cut the leaves and branches out using another 'Cheery Lynn' Die Cut.  The ovals are die cut from Spellbinders. The butterflies are also die cut which I lined the body up with diamond gems.  Folded up their wings for the 3-D effect.  I don't know, I just think this card whispers, Peaceful Healing.  What do you think?

Time for another card?  How about this one?

This is a Thank you card I created recently for my order.  I love the softness of the background paper, and tried to make it blend in with the rose I have placed on pre-cut labels layered on a die cut oval which was embossed with 'Swiss Dots' folder.  I then cut out my flourish in grey, 'Cheery Lynn' Die Cut and on each end I placed a pink gem for sparkle.  Inside the rose is a big pearl.  The sentiment 'Thank You' is a stamped set by Stampin' Up.

As always, I enjoy your comments.  If you are new, please join my blog and make it a place to visit me often.  I try and post each week.  I also have a Devotional button, please be refreshed in God's word as well.

God bless!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I normally post on a Thursday but as you all well know, this Thursday is Thanksgiving Day, so I am posting a bit early this week.  The card I chose this week, I actually had made several months ago - but felt it was the closest to a thankful heart.

Thanksgiving isn't only about the family feast, the pumpkin pies, and the afternoon naps.  It is a time when each of us need to take stock of what we have to be thankful for.  I believe the majority would find that they have an abundance to be thankful for.  The trouble most of us have, is we compare what we have to what others who have more.  That in itself is wrong, the Bible teaches us in Hebrews 13:5, 'Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.'

I personally found out, that when I take the time to just thank the Lord for all I have (naming each one to Him); I find that I am truly blessed.  I also find that I no longer wish to have what others have - and I find contentment in what I do have.  Which is an abundance!  This is when we can truly sing, 'Praise God for whom all blessings flow!'.  There is an added bonus to doing this.  When we see the abundance we have, we can then start and see those who do not have what we have, and it is a chance to reach out and give back what God has so graciously given to us.

Now about the card:  This card is cut short in the front allowing the inside leaves to show.  And took gold glitter and dotted the bottom of the top half.  I then added a smaller portion of the same to the top half, cutting out the corners with Friskars cutters.  I added the golden flourish, die cut from Cheery Lynn;s Design.  Die cut the circles and printed off the sentiment and added the orange bow.

I pray that each one you of have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
God Bless always!

Hello Everyone!

Here we are one week before Thanksgiving ~  It has come up so quickly!  I just didn't have the time this week to make a 'Thanksgiving' card.  However ~  I did participate in the Word Art Wednesday this week.  Let me know what you think of the card I turned in.

As many of you know the Word Art Wednesday, picks a Bible verse each week for the 'creators' to feature on their cards.  In case you can't read this, the Bible verse is Psalm 30:11-12.  I die cut the label out and printed the verse on to it.  Started off with black card stock, placed embossed burgundy with 'Swiss dots'.  Added a grey flourish which is also a die cut by 'Cheery Lynn Designs'.  This particular rose was made for me - however I am learning how to make roses on my own with 'Sizzix' die cut.  The added feather gives it some elegance; don't you think?  What is a card if you do not have some diamond blings?

My next card created is for a card drive through the Tea Potter's Challenge.  This poor woman whom the card is made for is going through cancer treatments; and in hopes of lifting up her spirits we have sent cards to her.  We all need some uplifting now and then.

The card stock is from K & Company paper.  Again the burgundy is embossed with 'Swiss Dots' (happens to be one of my favorites).  I used 'Spellbinders' die for the tea cup, which is embossed with 'musical flourish'.  Added the cream die cut flourish and added the lace bow.  The burgundy corners are cut with 'Fiskars' corner cutters.  And yes!  I made this rose myself.  Added some gold glitter, 2 - 3 leaves (fond puncher) and three green pearlized gems.  And last but not least the sentiment is part of a stamping set from 'Sweet n' Sassy'; which says,  'May God grant you peace and strength as you lean on Him'.  I think this sentiment says it all.  Don't we all need God's strength?  His peace?

I hope you enjoy these two cards ... it is always fun to play around with different things.  I would like to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving Day next week!  And don't forget to read my devotioanls!  Just click on the tab on top or go to the Devotionals badge on the left.  I welcome comments here and under the devotional section.  God bless everyone!  And have a 'Precious' Thanksgiving!  Jan

Good Morning Friends

Good Morning Everyone!

I am so glad to be able to share my thoughts and God's word with all of you.  If you haven't yet, please check out my devotionals.  There are two ways to get to them.  1) the tab on top that says, 'He Fortifies My Soul'  2) Devotional button on the left sidebar.  I welcome all of your thoughts - if you have prayer request I will be happy to post those for you too.  So others can pray for you as well.  We are all in this world together for a reason - that is to uplift, comfort and edify one another.

Today I go to the hospital for two tests, and then for two more on the 20th of this month.  I also had lab work done on me yesterday.  Many of you do not know that I suffer from Lupus, Fibromayalgia and an Internal Bleeding Disorder (Who says you can't have it all?).  Anyway, been having some bad days and so off to the 'land of needles and nurses!'  What was it the Lord said?  'Count it all joy'  James 1:2, 'My brethren count it all joy when you fall into various trials knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.'   I am hoping they will find out what is wrong - fix it and be over with.  Isn't that what everyone wants?  To be healthy.  That should make us run this race with all hands on deck - to the prize that God has for us in eternity.  Can I have an Amen?

My cards are slowly taking a turn for the holidays coming up.  I been making Christmas cards for about 8 months, so I will have a total of 60 cards to send out this year.  However, I make more to sell and to give away.  Feel free to comment on anything that strikes your fancy.

Here are two that I have done recently.  I used a digital stamp from Sweet n' Sassy.  I added an image of Baby Jesus and added silver stars with red gems.   My second card I used my new poinsettia die, which I absolutely love by the way!  The die is from Spellbinders, I added a gold flourish and added three pearls to the center of the poinsettia.  The frame was pre-cut and placed on top of the card itself.

Doesn't this make you want to get into the full swing of the holidays?  It sure does me!  Thanksgiving will be here before you know it.  And believe it or not (I know I got this backwards) but I intend to make a Thanksgiving card to share with you all very soon.  As always, I enjoy all of your comments - please forgive me if I do not get back on each one.  I am still new to blog land and still learning the ropes.

So one last thought before we close ....  If you are facing diversity of problems ... all you have done is made Satan mad.  No big deal!  Look up to the Lord, he will help you through each and every problem you face these days.  He is reaching for you, reach for him!

God bless always!

Welcome Friends!

Welcome to my new blog:  Precious Kitty's Creations!

A sweet and dear friend, Emily got me started and set up - all I had to do is the finishing touches.  I am very new at this - so bear with me as I sniff out all the things to do.  The kitty picture, is of my kitty, Precious; who is a hoot to boot!  Soon I will have to tell you all about her!  I am also a mother of a grown son whom I love very much and he keeps me on my toes!

I would like to introduce myself; my name is Jan Leslie, I enjoy creating cards with Bible verses in them.  I also like to write devotionals, which I am working on now.  And may start a devotional section on this blog (as soon as I figure out how to do that!).

Originally from California, I moved to Arkansas in 1990, but not before I spent a year in Oklahoma.  I am a member of 'Liberty Baptist Church' here in Bentonville, AR and just love everyone who goes there.  I am a full-blooded Christian, and strive to live accordingly to God's will.  I am not perfect just forgiven, as they say - and it holds true for all of us who belong to Jesus.

The last card I made was last night and I am going to try and get a picture here for you to see it:  Wish me luck!  Gonna need it!

That worked out!  Cool!

Outside:  Thinking of You
Inside:  Just a little 'note' to say I'm thinking of you.  Jesus
Bible Verse:  Finally brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy - meditate on these things.  Philippians 4:8

There is a LOT of 'whatevers' but ... it is something to really think about.  What are we putting into our pretty little heads these days?  Is it good, practical, moral thinking?  Or it is dirty, filthy, corrupt thinking?  I think this is something to think about!

Well folks - this is my very first post!  God Bless!  Hope to hear from you soon!
